Idaho's Mountains & Lakes
Priest Lake-Northern Idaho
Located in the northernmost portion of the Idaho Panhandle, 80 miles north of Spokane Washington, with the northern end of the lake extending to within 15 miles (24 km) of the Canadian border. The primary lake, lower Priest is 19 miles long and over 300 feet deep. Upper Priest is connected by a 2.5 mile thoroughfare to lower Priest.


Whiteclouds-Central Idaho
Part of the Rocky Mountains of the western United States, located in central Idaho, southeast of Stanley in Custer County. The range is located within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA) and is part of the largest unprotected roadless area in the United States outside of Alaska. The mountains and roadless area are part of the proposed "White Cloud Wilderness Area," one of three new wilderness areas proposed as a part of the controversial Central Idaho Economic Development and Recreation Act.
The White Cloud Mountains are located on National Forest land in with numerous trails in the area. Camping is permitted anywhere on the national forest land and there are no fees to access the area.Primary access to the area is via State Highway 75, the Salmon River Scenic Byway, which accompanies the main Salmon River as it descends along the range's western and northern perimeter.
The highest peak in the White Cloud Mountains, and the SNRA, is Castle Peak at 11,815 ft (3,601 m).
The Sawtooth Mountains are about twenty miles (32 km) west of the White Clouds, on the west side of the river and highway, and the Boulder Mountains are directly south of the White Clouds.

Henry's Lake-Eastern Idaho
A small, shallow natural alpine lake, approximately 8 square miles (21 km2) in area, at 4 miles (6.4 km) in length and 2 miles (3.2 km) in width. It is located at 6472 feet (1973 m) above sea level in the mountains of southeastern Idaho in the United States. It is on the southwest side of the Henrys Lake Mountains of northern Fremont County, approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) south the continental divide along the Montana state line, just west of Targhee Pass.
The lake is located in Caribou-Targhee National Forest.
The lake provides the headwaters of the Henrys Fork, a tributary of the Snake River. The lake lies less than 10 miles (16 km) across the continental divide from the headwaters of the Missouri River in southwestern Montana.
